Context: Eason is developing photographs he has taken of the cursed house. However the photo he has taken is also tainted, and Kayako emerges from the water.

Description: It seems as though they use a red gel filter for the developing room, which really gives a contrast between light and dark by darkening the blacks. Even though red is usually the color of a developing room , within context it creates a sense of fear as red often also means danger. For example in one scene Kayako is filmed from a high angle which should make her seem less powerful, however the feeling of danger creating by the red, combined with the vague unknowing of the black makes this a very eerie scene.
