Camera Movement


1. Pan shot
"Blow Out"-1981
Directed by Brian De Palms
Cinematography by Vimos Zsigmond

logline- Jack Terri realizes that his tape is blank.

Content- In this particular scene in "Blow Out" Jack Terri is in his studio and putting on one of his recording tapes to find that it has been erased. The camera pans around the whole room, showing the audience the whole studio and the equipment. The panning starts to speed up at the end.


2. Crane Shot
"Touch Of Evil" 1958
Directed by Orson Welles
Cinematography by Russell Metty

logline- this is the opening scene of "Touch Of Evil" and it starts to introduce the setting and characters within this shot by displaying a car and a couple walking in the streets

Content- In this opening scene of "Touch Of Evil" the audience can see how the crane shot is quite evident. The camera shoots people getting in their car and you can see from on top of the car. It also shows the couple walking down the street and you can also see all of the streets and buildings behind them do to the crane shot.



3. Steadicam Shot
"Atonement" 2007
Directed by Joe Wright
Cinematography Seamus McGarvey

Logline-the soldier is walking around looking at all the horror going about due to war

Content- in this particular scene in "Atonement"  a soldier is walking round talking to different soldiers and observing his surroundings. The camera is following his every move and very steadily moving wherever he is moving. The audience can see how this is a steadicam shot because the camera stays on the soldier wherever he is, also making the scene more dramatic



4. Drone shot/ Bird's Eye

In this particular video, a women is reciting a poem while scenes of nature and also the city is being displayed.

Content- the camera in this video shows mountains and cities from very high above. When watching this video, it seems as though it wants to make you feel like you are flying to. It definitely dramatizes the video and makes the poem more dramatic too.


5.Wild Card
Halsey-Colors Performance

Logline- Halsey Performs Colors in 2016.

Content- The camera in this video goes in and out on Halsey and also shows different angles of the stage. These shots are crane shots and they make watching this performance more interesting.
