Visual Inspiration

Context:

This Picture was shot by a photographer under the name Rukes. The picture is of the DJ Rezz. Rukes shot this picture on the second day of the festival, "Holy Ship!".

Content:

This picture in a sense represents what a typical Rezz show is: full of trippy and eye catching visuals that accompany dark and bass filled techno. Rezz further adds to the visuals by wearing a pair of spinning goggles that change colors.

Form:

Like stated above, Rezz's shows are filled with amazing visuals that inspire myself as a DJ and performer. She is one of few artists that go the extra route to incorporate images and colors to further capture the audience's attention. Seeing these visuals makes me want to get to a point where I can put a huge amount of effort in including pictures into DJ shows I do later on in life.

Context:

This picture is from a photographer named Jais Stanfield. This picture features Railroad Park in Birmingham. This picture has been featured in multiple magazines throughout the country.

Content:

This picture features a huge part of downtown Birmingham and a large tourist attraction also. The way the park sits right in front of the skyline of downtown makes for a beautiful sight and something that is better seen in person.

Form:

This picture is one I've seen multiple times and I love how it captures a place close to me. I'm from Birmingham and I go to railroad park at least once when I go back home for a break or a weekend. Growing up Birmingham wasn't somewhere exciting to visit, but with the addition of this park it provides a place to take my UA friends when I finally get them to go to Birmingham for a visit.

This is another picture taken by Rukes. This picture features the duo Jack U, made up of EDM giants Diplo and Skrillex.

Context:

This picture was taken on New Year's Eve 2014, at Madison Square Garden. This show was rare because it has been one of the few times an EDM show was held on NYE. The duo of Jack U provided a show that brought in the new year with party vibes and a positive vibe.

Form:

I am a huge EDM fan and Jack U is one of the artists I could listen to for hours on repeat. Skrillex and Diplo are two of the biggest names in all of music. I look up to them as inspiration for whenever I need a boost for a show or ideas for song combinations. I remember watching a live stream of this specific show and saying to myself how I want to do a show to this magnitude when I get the opportunity.
