Though not a conventional sitcom, the muppets usually follows the same multi cam structure. They also use blocking to hide the performers controlling the muppets, and often have many different difficult to manipulate characters on the screen at once, so multi cam would really help with the efficiency.

Multicam Assignment- Brianne Dunn

Jack Boatman - Multi-Cam Assignment

This clip is from Spiderman 3 in which he is fighting the Sandman. The use of multi-cam in this fight really makes the audience feel like they are witnessing the fight first person. It also allows the viewer to not miss a single second of the action. The various angles add suspense and show just how close this fight gets.

Thomas Hill - Multi Cam Assignment

Multi Cam Assignment

Context: This is a live performance on the Ellen DeGeneres show of the song "Victorious" by the band Panic at the Disco. This performance features multiple angles of the band playing and includes a show of the lead singer running through the audience.

Multi camera angle assignment- Myles Taste

This clip, along with other similar clips from Key and Peele, utilize a multi camera angle style of shooting to show the reactions of all characters involved in the skit. This gives the audience an idea of the mindset that all who are involved in the scene possess.

Sophia Karides - Multi-Camera Clip

This clip is from The Big Bang Theory and it uses multi-camera because it catches all the action from different angles. Multi-camera usually shows up in sitcoms where it is filmed in front of an audience.

Multi Camera Assignment - Blane Burroughs

This is a video of the band Pavement playing on Conan O'Brien's first show. Multiple cameras shooting is fantastic for live events and music, as it allows for there to be more than just one angle/shot.

This is a clip from the show Seinfeld. The show uses a multi camera format, and can have more of a theatrical/play feeling to it. Also one of the many sitcoms to use laugh track, giving the impression of a live audience. This lets people know when to laugh.

Eric Robinson - Multi Cam Assignment

This is a performance from a show called X-Factor. This clip uses multi-camera techniques to record the amazing performance from the two singers, Celeste and Mark.

In this scene of the popular show, Grey's Anatomy, Meredith and her colleagues attempt to save the life of a young girl. The multi-camera method is used in this video as well.

Multicam Assignment - Brittany PItts

Context:  This clip is from a documentary on the British boy band, One Direction, during their life on tour. It includes a lot of concert footage, and this is one of the songs. It is a cover of Teenage Dirtbag. This clip is interesting because the cameras often go behind the boys and show their perspective. It also uses animation and kinetic typography.

Charlie Sexton Multi Cam

A classic of Mumford and Sons at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. It starts off as a music video but uses the live video from their concert which was shot in a multi-cam set up. Enjoy!

Eric McCrory Mulit-Cam Clip

In one of the most classic scenes in Sports movie history, several different angles are used to capture individual players and the team alike.

Decota Morss - Multi Cam Clip

This is one of my favorite scenes from the Fate of the Furious when Dom's car was being Harpooning. Multi Cameras were used to capture every angle of this exciting scene. There are multiple cars pulling one car from the middle of the road causing different locations.

Annah Freeman Multi Cam Clip

Selena Gomez
2014 AMA performance of "The Heart Wants What It Wants)

Context- I think that the use of multi-cam in this performance is pretty evident. It starts off with the camera being far away from her, but then as the song progresses, you cans see another camera close-up, on the side of her face. The camera switches from far away to another camera right on her face throughout the entire performance.

Kelsey Schmitt - Multi-camera Clip

Seinfeld "The Contest" 1992
Season 4 Episode 11

In this episode Jerry tells Kramer about his new relationship problems and how the gangs contest of holding out on sex is starting to get to him. This video is paired side by side with the actual script, showing their lines and actions the writer wants them to play out. It also shows the different cameras being used to produce each angle in this episode, as well as the type of camera shoot and rig that is being used. Overall I thought this video was super informative for our class!

Vanessa Otero - Multi-camera Clip

Captain America and his team are at the airport trying to get in a jet to go somewhere to get proof that Bucky is innocent but they come across Iron Man and his team who think otherwise and try to stop Captain America and his team which results in the fight. Which is where multi-cameras came in to get every angle of the fight.

Abbie Merker - Multicam Clip

Abbie Merker - Multi Cam Clip

That 70s Show is a hilarious sitcom that uses many creative shots no other show has used before. Their concept of spinning a tri-pod around a table while the kids are supposedly smoking marijuana is classic to the show. Also, the use many cool transitions where the kids jump on trampolines with a 70s design background. Lots of very interesting techniques can be found in this show which is why it's one of my favorites.

Erin Friedrich - Multi Cam Clip

This is the action sequence at the beginning o one of my favorite movies, Deadpool. It is a very intense fighting scene. Multiple cameras were used to capture every angle of the fight as it progresses because of the dynamics of the fight. There are multiple bad guys fighting against Deadpool coming from every direction and as he fights them he flings them in multiple directions and locations and it would be almost impossible to capture from one single camera.

Kyle Crotwell - Multi Camera Clip

Popular piece from the sketch show Key and Peele. The camera angle changes many times from all different corners of the room to get a perspective on the kids as well as the teacher as they all respond to one another. I think it is a good example of showing the same event from many different angles as it happens.

Katherine Ellis- Multi Camera Clip

Women's Olympic Highlights

This clip is a recap of the highlights from the USA Women's Olympic Team from day 13 of the 2018 Winter Olympics. Every single goal that is featured in this highlight video is replayed (and typically slowed down) using a different camera angle than the one that was shown in the primary highlight. The different angles help the viewers see the shots and goals from a different standpoint and usually make them look more impressive overall. In sports, multi cam is extremely useful when there is an unclear play and the call for it needs to be reviewed. In hockey for example, if it is unclear wether the puck really crossed the goal line and went into the net or not, different angles can show the referees if the shot was a goal or not. They help keep the game fair.

Kennedy Park- Multi-camera Clip

Kennedy Park Multi-camera Clip

Bruno Mars performing his hit song "24K Magic" at the 2017 American Music Awards, in which he won 7 different awards, including both artist and video of the year. I find the use multi-camera in this clip especially interesting because the beginning shot goes from a wide-zoom to a shot directly on top of them.

Podcast: https://storycorps.org/animation/frank-curre/

Context: Pearl Harbor Veteran, Frank Curre, voices over an animation of his journey into the United States navy after the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Content: The story begins with Frank discussing his whereabouts during the attack on Pearl Harbor. He tells the audience that he was only a teenager aboard the U.S.S. Tennessee when the tragedy occurred. Frank was inspired by this moment and had a spark of patriotism, which led to his request of his mother to sign the United States Navy waiver.

Form: Much of this audio story was well edited and featured many aesthetically pleasing animations that correlated with what Frank was discussing with the audience.

Storytelling elements:
Well-created animations
Smooth voice of narration
Cursive writing that matches the words of Frank

Podcast Assignment-Katherine Ellis

Context: Love me was produced by two award-winning producers, Mira Burt-Wintonick and Cristal Duhaime.
They wanted to tell different stories about the messiness of human connection.
It can be found on iTunes or cbc.ca

Content:
The narrator of this story begins the episode describing that there are a history of people who were known to have some inexplicable sadness and loneliness always luring over them, then eventually at some point in their life they discovered that they had a long lost twin, and the narrator decided that she was going to believe that she had some long lost twin somewhere out there in the world. The narrator was going home one day and the doorman of the building she lived in chased her up the stairs and was trying to rape her and they ended up barging into a classroom of fourth graders and he ran away. The narrator then goes on to talk about how she was sexually assaulted when she was only 6 years old. She ended up having to quit her job babysitting Jacob because he was so terrified of being around her after she was assaulted infant of him. Then she grows up and reveals that she got married and her husband ended up passing away.

Form: The story is told in chronological order of the events that happened. There are short breaks in the episode when the scenery or focus point of the story changes, and when this occurs this repeating song plays. There is also other music selections used. For example, when the narrator is talking about the fictional stories that her and the boy she babysat made up there is magical music playing to help convey the idea of a fantasy occurring. When the mood of the story changes to a more negative tone, more negative background music starts playing. As the narrator grows up and gets married the narrators voice changes to more of an elderly voice. The podcast also used a male to speak when she is talking about meeting a man at the bar.
