ASSIGNMENT DELIVERY GUIDELINES: Individual Documentary Video Edits

Your documentary project edits are due on THURSDAY, APRIL 26 by NOON.

As we have discussed in class on numerous occasions, each group must film an interview and b-roll of a subject together. Each group member should copy all of the footage and edit a 1-2 minute version of their documentary using the footage filmed by the entire group.

Each edited video must include:

  • edited video interview (use of video and/or audio)
  • b-roll footage
  • music
  • optional: sound fx track
  • title card with title of the project (each project should have unique title)
  • end credits - give credit to the videographers, give yourself credit as the editor and be sure to thank the subject, the locations and anyone else who helped in making your project happen

Each GROUP should create one blog post that is title GROUP #: DOC PROJECTS.

Inside of this post each individual group member should:

 1. EMBED their documentary

Use VIMEO or YOUTUBE to host your video - there are free membership sites.
EMBED the video --- remember use the HTML tab to paste in the embed code from YouTube (paper airplane icon or Share > Embed code from YouTube.

2. Underneath your EMBEDDED VIDEO, please post SCREENSHOTS of the following:
  1. Your Premiere editing window, showing layout of the windows
  2. Your organized Bin Window, with clips clearly labeled
  3. Your edited timeline closer with some tracks expanded that show that you have video tracks and multiple audio tracks (with dialog and music and/or fx)
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email your professor or visit in office hours.
